Gretchen started her 25 + year career in applied social work and social services work, supporting vulnerable individuals and families. She has an M.S.W, and in 2012 she returned to university to begin her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, completing her program in 2016. She worked as a Assistant, then Associate, Professor of Social Work in Canada and New Zealand for eight years. She has taught clinical interviewing, theory, policy, and research methods courses, among others.
This has allowed her to work across disciplines, using a culturally comparative approach, as well as doing clinical social work. She currently works at The Rooted Space as a Psychotherapist.
